On March 22, the Internet Society of China (ISC) held the 269th Blue Ocean Salon - "Personal Information Infringement Risks and Response Strategies in the Field of Generative Artificial Intelligence" seminar.
The conference was chaired by Ms. Pei Wei, Deputy Secretary General of ISC. She pointed out that generative AI offers transformative potential in a variety of fields such as education, entertainment, healthcare and scientific research, inspiring an unprecedented wave of attention and creativity. However, while having a broad application prospect and development future, generative AI also poses a huge impact and threat to the established personal information protection system. Generative AI usually requires a large amount of data for training, and with the widespread use of generative AI, the collection, storage and processing of personal data will become very common. Without effective data management and personal information protection mechanisms, generative AI services will lack transparency and control, and personal information protection will require more detailed technology, mechanism and rule design.
Experts from universities, research institutes, and enterprises, combined with specific application cases of AI, discussed topics focusing on how to enhance the effectiveness of technical means of personal information protection in the era of generative AI, how to improve the regulatory vacancy and complementary mechanisms, and balance the safety and development of the industry.
