IGF-China Initiative launched in Beijing

Organized by the Internet Society of China (ISC), the 2019 (18th) China Internet Conference held at the Beijing National Convention Center on July 9-11. At the conference, the IGF-China Initiative was launched by CAICT (the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology) and ISC.
As the founding representative, Mr. Li Yong, Vice President of CAICT gave an introduction on the background of set-up the IGF-China Initiative and called for jointly efforts and participation from multistake-holders.
IGF-China Initiative hopes to build a communication and exchange platform for the governments, enterprises, universities, technological communities, civil societies and other stakeholders to discuss Internet governance related issues in China through manners of bottom-up, multi-participation, open, transparent and inclusive, encouraging them to play their roles respectively. At the same time, the IGF-China Initiative will build a bridge and promote the domestic Internet community to participate in the global IGF process, and will also strengthen cooperation and exchanges with other NRIs, learning from others and sharing China's development experience, and jointly contributing to the world Internet, said Mr. Li.
